Hydrating Green Smoothie

green_smoothieGood morning! Want to start your day feeling fresh, rejuvenated and looking your best? Do your body good by consuming this hydrating green smoothie. Not ready for a green breakfast yet? Have it as a summer poolside drink or as an evening “mocktail”!

What’s this alkaline green smoothie got?

Coconut water – coconut water contains less sodium, more potassium and fewer calories than a sports drink. Eight (8) oz. of plain coconut water is all you need!

Basil – Considered one of the healthiest herbs, basil is a blemish eraser and stress reducer! Basil boasts Vitamin A which contain beta-carotene for protecting cells, and also contain anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Spinach – All dark leafy greens are great for skin, hair and bone health! Spinach contains protein, high levels of potassium, iron (plant form non-heme) and magnesium.

Pineapple – fresh pineapple is the only food source to contain an enzyme called bromelain, which alleviates joint pain and arthritis and inhibits bruising. Pineapple also contain many vital nutrients like vitamins and minerals.

Lime – Weight loss, skin care, improved digestion? If that’s not enough limes contain antioxidants that which may prevent many diseases. Limes boast about as much Vitamin C as lemons.
